Hot and humid months upon us and I've been blasting my AC every drive. The AC itself is working properly and is quite cold, however it has some quirks.

Initially, I noticed my condensation dripping under the truck at large volumes. Seemed to be normal but eventually my underside of dash became very wet and flooded my entire passenger floor board. This was during an 8hr trip of it running constantly. It was filled up with so much condensation that even underside of the driver dash started dripping. The middle vents also started blowing out condensation intermittently.

I removed the metal drain pipe and it ended up being clogged! I also cleaned the rubber grommet and shoved some weed eater cord up as far as it'd go. Some additional water came out and I thought all was fixed. I also added a drain extension so it wouldn't drip on the frame.

All seemed well for a week or so but now the condensation is still coming out of the vents occasionally. Also, minimal dripping is still noticeable on passenger side, but nowhere to the extent it was previously.

I noticed the AC goes in cycles, as in it blasts out super cold AC for about a minute then it gets less cold for awhile, and when it's less cold the condensation comes out. It seems to cycle like this off and on. It also seems to come out every time I'm going up hill.

My drain isn't clogged, it's dripping out plenty as it should. I checked my freon level, and gauge says it's at a perfect amount, so no leaks. Really not sure what else could be going on here.

Is this something I'll have to live with or is it fixable?

Condensate has to go somewhere. Verify the drain spout on the engine bay side of the firewall isn't plugged.

THANK YOU. I'll get to this job this weekend - When I first got the truck, it sat for awhile and there was signs of trapped leaves, acorns, pine needles etc. They would blow out occasionally after turning the vents on. Thought it was from the air filter housing, but I cleaned that out and installed a new filter. It also sounds like the blower motor is on the fritz so might as well check it out. This very well could be the issue.

EDIT: Just found a video displaying the process of removal. Seems like a pretty easy job to remove the unity itself, however I'll have to have a shop clear the system. Does anyone know how simple this is to do at home?

Cleaning the drains is pretty easy on these. Some 3D printer filament or weed whacker line can work wonders. Make sure they are free flowing before you replace any parts.
