Hey guys, A while back I was asking about putting a cruise control stalk on my 2014 Tacoma 2DR 2WD Regular Cab 2.7 Engine.
I have seen several things and a lot of the videos that I’ve watched. It looks easy enough to get the airbag off to be able to get where the cruise control would go, and I’ll be sure to take the negative battery terminal off first before I start doing anything. But, some of the videos show that the small wiring harness that comes with the stalk has the ground wire for the horn and some show that you have to have that extra ground wire for the horn and some even show them actually changing the little “pins” in the connection to ground the horn..
I already successfully put intermittent wipers on it, but I can’t seem to find an exact answer on what I need to get as far as the stalk, the harness, the ground wire for the horn, AND the actual cover I will have to get to put the stalk through, because I’d rather not drill it out and put it on because I don’t have the drill bit for that and I also like the looks of the ones that kind of has the hole in the cover but also has like the little “flaps” where the stalk goes through…. I’m getting my Undercover hard tonneau cover put on this Tuesday so I can put everything back there like my tools and my jack and jack stands and my spare ( so I don’t have to do the chain thing from the back if I have a flat ), and my luggage and all that because I’m getting older and my health is bad and I want to take one last trip to my hometown and it’s 650 miles away…. It’s not only my health, but I can only afford to do this one time because after working all my life, I got pancreatitis and was in a coma and one life support for 3 weeks and in the hospital for 2 months and I had to learn to walk and everything again…. I believe in GOD…. I know a lot of people don’t, but I know HE saved my life, but now I have a LOT of health problems and age isn’t helping those…. So with all that said, I’m reaching out to you guys to help me with this as it should be the last thing I need to make that one trip.. There’s no way I can go that far with no cruise control.. My legs get numb…. I’ll have to get a motel half way there and again halfway back and it’ll take all I have to be able to afford that, so like I said, this will be the last time I can go and I have to leave on the 14th of this month ( July ) in between all my doctor’s appointments and medicine refills…. I know that’s a lot of information for a Tacoma cruise control question, but I wanted you to know how important it is to me.. I’m just confused about all the different videos being different and I have to get the right parts the first time…. Please help if you can.

I am not certain about your year Tacoma, but I have a 2007. I installed the stalk. It came with a ground wire and that was all. I have not had an issue since install. I do not remember anything else to do. I bought a kit that came with instructions. It has been a long time and I do not remember where I bought it. Hope this helps.
