Food plots

I sprayed my plots with roundup last week, planning on planting first or second week of August.

 

I may need to read the hunting pamphlet again, I’m not too far from you

 

Not sure if legal here I Know “baiting “ is illegal but never read anything about minerals in NY . Google now

 

It looks like it’s illegal here also I’ve had 2 of these mineral site for years now . Hmmmm ,I don’t hunt here much anyway ,mostly Pennsylvania.

 

IDNR uses airplanes to spot salt/mineral licks around here.

 

Big buck state = big bucks $$$ they don’t give a crap around here . There is like 2 DEC officers for 3 counties.

Wow. Y’all sure got some regs up north. Pretty much anything goes here now in SC. Baiting (foodstuffs not mineral or salt licks) was illegal for deer in the upper half of the state up till about ten years ago. Now the majority guard their bait piles. I just go hunt. Did plow three spots here around the barn and pond last week. Going to plant some forage oats later on for the fall just to see what happens. Got a nice set of disc harrows this summer and decided it’d cut down on the bush hogging a little. May plant those and a small 1/2-3/4 acre sunflower patch for doves next year.
