(PHOTO BELOW) My windows were squeaking when I lower or put them up. They sprayed this fucking lube and now there’s marks

I don’t want these marks… any way to fix it or should I go back to the dealer ?

Count your lucky stars! Mine went to dealer for the rear end weld slag recall & when they lowered the car on lift, the door hit something & got creased- scratched to bare metal. A month of fighting them & their cameras got the door repainted but I gave up fighting them for the missing Toyota emblem, edge guard & nail guards.
    Grease? Trade ya!

I would clean it a few times and see if it takes care of the problem. I hate taking my truck to the dealership for anything.

To answer your question: No, there is no possible way to remove residue from glass.
It will be there for eternity. Tormenting you.
Scrap the truck and start a class action suit.

I would have lubed it myself with Honda ShinEtsu in less time than it took to go to the dealer and back.

But that horse already left the stable.

If the grease is on the glass simply clean it with Dawn, mineral spirits or goof off and enjoy the rest of your day.

    Happy Friday!

I can only imagine the number of cabin air filters some people have paid for at the dealer :anonymous:

They lubed the window? Never heard of this fix. They normally replace the window channel.

This “Windex” you speak of sounds interesting.

Will I need special certification to handle it myself, or does the dealership have a specialist onsite?

You could take the belt molding off and clean the felt with degreaser, or just ask them to replace it.

You don't have to have any special certifications fortunately, but you definitely will run into a tough time if you don't opt for the dealer-approved applicator towels. And don't forget the extractor towels too. Many who are not experienced in this type of service often try to reuse the applicator towel for extraction, and it can leave behind unwanted residue and debris.

If they used a silicone based spray, it will hard to get off.
It will come off, but it will take some work.

I'd start with a 90% rubbing alcohol. It's easy to get and relatively safe on most surfaces.
If that doesn't work, you will need to move up to some better solvents.

If the window is tinted, you're in for some work. Just keep working with the alcohol.
I'd be afraid some of the other solvents would melt the tint.
