I purchased a Garmin Mini 3 dash cam for my 2019 Tacoma and it gets the job done but this Texas heat causes the suction cup mount to fail after a couple of days. Very irritating!

I don't own a GoPro and I don't want to invest more $$ on a whole new dashcam.

    Q. Can someone suggest a thread or YouTube video that covers how to use an adapter to mount a Garmin mini 3 to a GoPro mount like on my windshield? I need to figure out which GoPro buckle and ball joint adapter to buy to.make it work. The Garmin Mini 3's camera body is hard plastic with a ball joint receptacle or connection. The windshield mount sucks! Plus, I paid extra for this accessory that didn't work out in this brutal Texas heat! IMG_20250718_142524333_HDR.jpg

I did notice the Garmin comes with a small base that glues to the windshield but I suspect that too would be become unglued in due time by this scorching Texas heat.

    Thanks for any advice!

I would honestly give that adhesive mount a try. It is VHB tape, much like other stuff that gets attached to vehicles, like the 3rd Gen flares. I'm just in WA, but the stuff seems to work.

Doesn't your windshield already have a Go-Pro-style mount on it? (Just right of the mirror) GoPro has adapters that will just click into it.

Yes, it does! I know there are quick release buckles for that windshield mounted GoPro base. The trick is to find an adapter to fit into my Garmin Mini 3 dash cam.

Garmin adhesive mount works fine in the TX heat. My 2018 Tacoma ranch truck has experienced zero issues with the Garmin adhesive mount for several years.
