A couple of pics that my daughter took on our recent trip out west. The first is a bison at Buffalo Gap National Grassland, the second is a moose in the Big Horns off of Hwy 14A.

The rabbit is a frame from a video and I used my Canon R50 to photograph the spider.

Probably the only legal thing I've ever grown...
Put some seeds into the ground first week of June -
BOOOOM 6 weeks later this thing is 5+ feet tall and growing 2-3 inches a day.

I got 6 of these at various stages -

Closeup - the seed pods are forming - I suppose I'll have lots of birds around which is great too.

    Hello fellow photographers…

Does anyone in central Oregon shoot with a Panasonic FZ1000 and be willing to let me get hands on?

    Cheers!

See if lensrentals.com has one for rent - it's a good place to Try Before you Buy.

Thanks, to my surprise they do have a version for rent, however the cost would be close to 20% of the cameras value. I’ll probably just buy one as there aren’t too many options for the job that I have in mind. I just wanted to get hands on to confirm it’s not too big…

I just realized, I think that camera has been discontinued for a while. Maybe they'll sell it? Or maybe KEH has one for sale?

Yes it is discontinued, I’m actually looking at the mk2 version (which is discontinued too), I figured if someone local had a mk1 or 2 version they would have chimed in.

Thanks. Another great resource for comparing cameras is this…
    https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/image-comparison

I’m actually a full time photographer and became a father last year and wanted a smaller EDC camera than all of my pro stuff. I ended up getting a Panasonic LX100 m2 and love it, but as the babe is now moving around quickly I’m wanting something to complement the LX with a bit more reach and at least a 1” sensor.
I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to the Panasonic FZ1000 m2 or Leica Vlux 5 (basically a rebranded Panasonic).
I would like a Sony RX10 mk4 but used prices, thanks to the tariffs, have increased like the msrp’s have, this makes the Panasonic a great deal at +/-$500.

I think I just need to buy a used one with a good return policy. I basically want it to be small enough to fit in my smallest sling bag along with my LX.

Enough of talk… here is a recent snap I took with the LX when I was experimenting with the macro functionality and this fly landed right with reach. Pretty much the first time I’ve photographed anything macro apart from wedding rings :)
    fly-1.jpg
Usual crappy compression of quality has happened with the upload but I was surprised at the quality of the RAW file straight out of camera…

I had a GH3 for a bit. Aside from the shutter lag, it was a nice camera for the Panasonic comeback.

This is my first Panasonic/Leica combo. So far it has been a great camera, M43 sensor with a Leica 24-75mm f1.7-2.8 lens in a pocketable size (albeit a jacket pocket). Shooting wide open it has a beautiful shallow dof and nails the focus on the eye frequently.
It’s actually been a real joy to use. Picking up my work cameras now feel like a chore.

Until this camera I never knew of the Panasonic/Leica collaboration.

I concur with the compression issue - the images I post on my 24" monitor are killer... but then when I upload here they look like duh...
