I have continued to have a difficult time getting dealer verification on what works and what does not on my TRD Sport. They would not verify the TRD skid plate. So, I thought I would share the part numbers and confirm the fit for my TRD Sport. I just finished adding a TRD skid plate to my TRD Sport. PLEASE NOTE that it does require one non-OEM part. So, if you are looking to do this, here are the parts you will need.

    1. TRD Skid Plate PTR60-35240 - GRIECO TOYOTA is the cheapest I found for all TRD things at least 20% off.
    2. Mounting Cross bar, which you can find in several places:
    a. eBay b. NYTOP c. RCI All look to be good parts; from what I can tell, they work. I bought the eBay one, but it was expensive.
    3. Two M8-1.25 x 25 are used to attach the front part of the Skid Plate to the chassis. Some of the Mounting cross bars come with the bolts.

Once you have all three of the above, you are good to go. The install is pretty easy. I also found a great video to walk you through it. Remember to always follow MFG torque specs when installing things.
As an additional note, I have installed the transmission skid plate (more of a cover), which I mentioned in an earlier post. You will see it in these pictures.
    Best of Luck.

Interesting. That skid looks different than the one that came on my TRD-OR. Makes me wonder.

My only issue with this is the fact that there is another bolt for the service guys to strip or damage while servicing your oil change.

Yes, this is correct, but no different with anything else that tech can strip thread or break off bolts. I would note this is not a hybird, which requires a different skid plate.
