I watered my blueberries with that stuff today, and a half strength on the strawberries and blackberries.

 

Look for limelight in the next few days, that's when you know Muracid is working. Limelight is a vigorous new growth at the tips of the branches, bright lime-green leaves different color than the rest of the plant. It is a sign that plant is doing well.

We add used coffee grounds to the plants also. I have a plastic quart container from a Chinese take-out soup next to the coffee maker.
Once it gets full, we dump it in turns in the raised beds, at the base of the blueberries, blackberries, etc. Used coffee grounds increase soil acidity and are full of micronutrients that plants use.

Had a buddy over today who passed on a preventive for squash bugs that I've never heard of. This from an oldtimer via an old timer. He said to toss hot pepper seeds under the squash plants. The pepper plants won't produce because of the shade but the presence of the pepper plants will deter squash bugs. I will sure keep this in mind for next year.

 

Interesting but dunno how true it is. I had a big green tomato hook caterpillar chowing on my jalapeno plant.

 

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Did his rear end look red? Lol! I’m gonna plant some marigolds in there next season. Thanks to you for posting that article link. Read it before but had lost track of it and some of its suggestions on squash bugs.

Some were getting wrinkles...and werent getting any bigger so i picked them. Got some tomatillos also. I thought i bought giant variety but they are just average sized

 

I've got Craig's from Baker creek and jedi giant from hoss. Both doing well. The Iberia cayenne from hoss is EXTREMELY productive and BIG peppers. Always been and heirloom fellow, till this year. The Hoss hybrids have kicked tail.

 

Mostly garden veggie salsa. Only veggies from store was galic and limes. And a farmers market onion

 

we have a bunch of garlic!
