Anyone replace their rearview mirror with a display/ monitor
to display a rear and or front facing cameras ?
Would be nice to leave backup cam alone and
mount a higher rear facing camera that does
not have to look thru tint or rear passengers and
    maybe have nightvision leds too.
Front facing cam mounted lower to see whats directly
    infront while garage parking etc.

    yes, and no.

i changed my backup camera to the rearview mirror because i specifically wanted a 'dumb' 1-din radio instead of a touchscreen. i was also having massive issues programming the gentex v5 mirror door opener buttons, where i have had multiple gentex v4 mirrors that program and work without issue.

so i contacted bobmirrors, and he set me up with a complete package with a compass/display/homelink gentex v4 mirror, and a wiring pigtail of my specified length for me to integrate into my audio build. i already had the requisite 6v power adapter, and an rca breakout cable to get the video signal out of the factory harness behind the radio (but he did make sure i was aware both of those items were needed before selling me anything).

eventually, i'd love to add a front camera and a video switch, it's just extremely low on the priority list for me.

but i'd absolutely recommend going through bobsmirrors for anything you need, or even just to bounce the ideas off of. he knows his stuff.
