I do not want to bum ya out...but I must share.

Just got word that the oldest shooter in our group is in the hosp. on a morphine drip. Scheduled for sx tomorrow to remove a large stomach and lung tumor.
Barring some miracle, I know how this goes.
    Now the positive...
I've shot with this guy for close to 5 years. He's a crusty ol cuss. Straps his bow on his Harley sideways and goes. I've seen him get mad and throw his bow and I've seen him laugh so hard he about pees himself. He's 83 and was out with all of us last Sunday, flinging arrows. He lost the "half-way hotdog shot" and had to buy his nemisis a hotdog for brunch.
The good times I will remember.

    The point here:...
Our next breath is not promised.
Tell the ones you care for, you are glad to see them. And be sincere when you say it...it may be your last chance.

You will be glad you did.
You will be sorry you did not.

Our AC (heat pump) doesn't seem to add to much to our bill. That thing was running solid last week. We will see!

Our electric bill was $285 last month with thermostat set at 78. Heat pump downstairs is 30 years old. Upstairs unit in attic is more recent. 1800 square. ft. house. Insulated windows are not allowed here in historic districts.

    Ok....I have a gripe...
Move on if ya don't want to hear a guy belly-ache about buying s4it on the web.

If ya read my other post on buying a tablet, then taking it back cause it wanted way too much info just to read an eff'n book...ths is "the rest of the story"..

So, I got a little case for the tablet and couldn't find screen protectors at the store. Jumped on the web and did a duck-duck-go and some options came up. One of which was NewEgg.com. Years ago I bought entire components to build my own PCs. But it's been years since I've bought anything from them, however they had a great selection on tablet cases, specifically for my tab at $25. shipped...perfect. I ordered one.
About 15 minutes later I get an email, from a 3rd party, telling me to confirm the model of tablet I had and IF I did not do so, my order would be delayed 48 hours..AND IF I ordered the wrong case, I would bare all the expenses to return it.
"But if you click on the correct link to your tab model, your BELOVED case would be shipped immediately."
Wait...what the eff'n BS are you trying to feed me?
If I don't respond, you're going to delay shipping for 48 hours?

I have NEVER ever heard of anything so "pushy and manipulating" in a long time.
I mean this takes, "Hurry ! Act now, while supplies last!" to a whole new level.
I recognize this as a tactic called "nudging" and it is classified as highly unethical and considered abusive. I think it may be illegal in some countries. You can read about it and other mind/behavior manipulation in a book titled "Psywar" by Malone.
So anywho, now I'm pissed. I respond to the email via customer ser addy.
Cancel my order. I'm blocking the charge (and did so). I have no idea who you are and I'm not "double" confirming my tablet model#....and they wanted a double confirm on my address.
Oh hell no! Go play your psy games with some other idiot!
I don't need that case bad enuf to do extra-extra steps or face a 48 hour delay. B.S.
    Annoying little turds!

Man, ya really otta get the book, such an eye opener.
    Example:
...those little countdown clocks running in the corner of the screen.
...the "Only 3 left" buy now banner.

Those are "nudges" and they are designed to switch you from thinking about a purchase, to becoming emotional about buying something.
    Very dirty tactics.

I got 3 tablets. Two from Best Buy and 1 from Walmart. I purchased the case covers from the same store I got the tablets from. They were available and they fit. These from Best Buy.

I bought a tablet from Walmart. No case/covers available. One of the tablets from BB dies and I was lucky it was a partial fit for the Walmart one. I used double sided sticky Velcro to take up any no-fit slack. Not a super fit but it works.... and I got a good cover thingy.
I'm not gonna spill $30.00 + for a super fit case/cover when I have DS self sticky Velcro in my tool box. It really sticks and works.

Grand daughters think I'm cheap. I tell them I'm 'parsimonious' ....
    parsimonious ....

It wouldn't surprise me if the 'nudge' wasn't a spoofed response to try to get your info. Did you check the address for the response to confirm it was NewEgg?

edit: As much as I buy online these days, I don't trust anyone anymore.

    It was not newegg.
It felt the same way amazoon has "stores" that sell their wares on one site.
Buy it on amazoon but they only get a part of your cash, the man behind the curtain gets the rest and ships.

I did end up with a Lanova tab and a matching case.
    Screen protectors...that's another challenge...

Looks great. The tail end of the filet is hard to cook because the thickness is not uniform. You have mastered the cook.

Pork shoulders are so versatile. If you do not shop at Kroger you should try to catch their sale on pork shoulders. Usually on sale for 99 cents a lb. The meat department will cut it into steaks for you and you will receive the sale price.

Good morning. Did a lot of walking yesterday, over 8600 steps. The evening walk was muggy. Thus week is getting ready for a trip to Michigan. Looking forward to
