These bucks normally hang around or is there a good chance he will disappear in the next year or so?

As long as you have food, water and cover they usually stay around.

Saw this young buck from the kitchen Friday. Biggest one I've seen around the house.

I planted a spot of turnips for the deer one year 10' wide X 100 yards long. They were luscious, never saw a deer eat one of them. I guess it was the variety I planted, I know they like them.........allegedly.

Used to carry a Gatorade bottle when I was guiding for this very reason. When it’s cold as shit, piss in that bottle and toss it in the bottom of your sleeping bag. Just make sure it’s closed all the way

    don’t knock it, shit works!

Might have a tastier food source nearby? Neighbor with a feeder slinging a ton of corn or something?

Yep...they can be picky...or they have other stuff they like. So far this summer the deer here like the trophy rock and deer corn.

Ive mixed salt in corn, sugar in corn, different koolaid flavors, salt block alone, trophy rock alone. And while they ate the corn they werent really going after it. The salt blocks mostly disintegrated into ground.

I know you said you cant bait, just have to plant variety and see what they go after the best.

I also had buckwheat planted (would not recommend) and corn on the ground. They walked through the turnip to go to the other. The buckwheat died first frost, like bad dead and they wouldn't touch it either. Lesson learned.
