I've read a few threads mentioning a long standing issue with how the windshield cowl fits.
During my first wash I noticed that I have a gap in the center of my 2025 cowl, right above the passenger wiper shaft. Wondering how widespread the issue really is...

Don’t have a 4th gen but my 3rd gen had one replaced under warranty. Looks like they still haven’t fixed the issue with the cheap plastic .

My '25 OR has the same gap. I too found it while washing my car. Is this a defect or is it suppose to be there?

Oh man. 4th gen here, I have the same thing. I guess I’ll be talking to the dealership about that when they get the brake line fix eventually.
I’m assuming it’s not supposed to be like that

The gap is not intended to be there, but it's also not really detrimental. The cowl seal helps leaves and debris from getting down into the channel below. The only issue would be water getting into the cabin air intake, but the intake is further towards the passenger side.
If the majority of trucks have the gap, then I'd assume the cowl design needs a revision. I'd hate to risk fender scratches from techs leaning over the truck just to have them install another cowl that will deform in a few months of sunlight.

Sounds like a job for some clear sealant...

I'm thinking that might be a better option then having the dealer replace it.
