Sauna sesh yesterday, light rains and then heat to steam the trails. Also managed to burn my arm on the rotor while loading bikes on the shuttle.

thanks guys, I know the assegai/dhrii works so that’s an easy combo. I like messing around with different options though. May give the radials a try!

I ordered the Ergon gdh grips and ride wrap. Gonna build this up slowly so I’ll probably order tires next haha

That's why it is always wise to have a beer after each lap. Gives the rotors time to cool off. Safety first!!

I just ordered a MM/Albert radial set for my bike; planning to swap from Assegai/DHR soon. They were kinda hard to find in stock, for whatever that's worth.

I had the same problem with finding them in inventory. Albert was easier to find than MM. Ended up going with Mikes Bikes but now looks like they are sold out as well.

All I have done is mount them, not even seated yet. Hope to get them seated with just a floor pump. I forgot mine at home so have to run out and buy something today. Very first thoughts, they go on much easier than Kryptotals!

I think, in general, the quality of Schwalbe tires are a cut above the rest. That used to not be the case, they used to have serious problems. But since they switched factories and rubber suppliers a few years ago, they've been excellent.

If youre buying something anyway, look into those little mini electric pumps. They seem worth it though I don't have one. Not sure if they would be strong enough to seat a tire

It is going to stay at my mom's house so won't see a lot of usage. I looked at some of those but don't want to spend that money for it to sit a good portion of the year.

I have something like this, not this exact one but I couldn't tell you which I have

    https://www.amazon.com/Powools-Infl...prefix=electric+bike+pump,aps,156&sr=8-3&th=1

Lives in the glovebox and can be constantly charged up by a solar panel on my roof. Highly recommend. No experience seating a tubeless tire, I use it for a road bike regularly and it's awesome. 0 to 100 in a minute or so, highly recommend getting one - but I don't know that it has the oomph for seating a tubeless tire - especially an MTB one.

You can make one pretty easily - fire extinguishers can hold a decent pressure + volume, get a hose off of that and it should have the pressure and CFM to seat a MTB tire for tubeless.

    Alternatively you can buy one.

^^^ There's some 60$ options on the 'zon, DIY can be done for about the same cost as that one though.

Good to hear that they go on easier than the Contis. That's one of the only tires I've struggled to mount and seat with a floor pump in the last 5+ years.

Could say this for nearly every tire manf. tbh

Lots of good options nowaday, just be realistic with what casings you really need and you're g2g.

Radial first ride impressions were good. I read they are supposed to “break in” but overall they felt very compliant. I wasn’t riding anything to really test the grip but over some decent sized roots and rocks the tires felt good. I am used to how Conti’s feel over roots and I would say these felt softer at higher pressure. I was running 28.5/30 F/R. I just kind of swagged the pressures based on the numbers the Wolftooth app plus a couple pounds. I will probably drop those down to 26/27.5 and run the same trail again tomorrow to see how that feels. I expect that I was a bit high based on the terrain setting. Overall I am very happy with them and hope they come out with a XC/Trail radial for the Ranger in FL.

I also road the course that they used last week for the National XCO championships in Roanoke. It was part of trail system that I normally ride when I am in VA. They added a few bits to connect some trails together and overall I liked it. It was a fun course to ride on the EMTB. I would not have wanted to just pedal some of those climbs. I will probably try to give parts of the marathon course a run this weekend.
