I've been considering a cap, or tonneau cover for my Taco. Mostly tonneau covers. However, what are the pros/cons with a one piece vs a folding vs a rollup cover? This is the third pickup I've owned, if you consider the Subaru Baja a pickup, and I've never had one long enough to consider a cap/cover, until now.

I don't really utilize the bed of my truck very often, in fact, if I need a pickup with a bed, I typically borrow the 1995 T100 I have access to, since it has a ton more bed space. But, I would like a place to store stuff that's out of the weather, and also out of the cab, from time to time.

I've had both a tri-fold and one piece and prefer the one piece, mainly for the look of a color matched tonneau. Like you I don't really use my truck for truck things, 90% of the time the bed is empty and only occasionally used for hauling small to medium items.

I will say that when I do have to haul sheet goods, or long items, a hard tonneau is a bit of a pain. This is where the tri-fold shines in terms of utility.

I have a roll up since new and it has lasted a long time since 2015. They do fade and get weathered as time passes but you can replace them for half the cost since you already own the hardware. Mine is a truxport and it has the support bars incorporated into the roll up cover so no need to worry about snow load. Mine doesn’t leak inside at all and I’m happy with my purchase.
Back then mine cost $240.00. Now there about 100 more.

I have a topper and I really like how useful it is. It's large enough that I can fit most things inside it. Definitely the more expensive option but totally worth it imo.

I always thought a folding tonneau was the way to go, but found a stupid deal on a solid one piece, Undercover Tonneau. I like that it keeps my tailgate locked shut, as I don't have a locking tailgate. The lip makes it hard/not likely to be opened. This brand is also super easy to take off and put back on. With two people, it's less than 5 minutes to install. Even quicker to get it off. I seldom ever use it, as my camper is usually in the truck, but when I do throw it on, I love it.

Is this now a cap thread?
Lol, I have a tonneau cover too, but much prefer the cap

Doors open up fully, have full access, just can’t dump stuff into the bed

What kind of camper is needed to get the truck dmv fee off the registration.
