    Howdy, I have a 2000 5VZFE prerunner.
I am replacing the fuel injectors and doing some engine maintenance.
The clips on all six of the connectors that clip onto the injectors are all very brittle and broken.
Am I able to use these as is, or should I replace the connectors/pigtail?

I would replace the connectors you don’t want one popping off then you would have to pull upper and lower intake to get to it. JMHO

Figured I would replace them while I already have everything off.
Can I just replace the connector or do I have to do the whole pigtail?

TBH I have never replaced them but if you can get the pins out of the old connectors and transplant them in the new ones that would be ideal. If not you will need to splice in the pigtails.

Another option might be to use zip ties and secure them to the injectors.

I tried replacing just the connectors without much luck, but never seemed to find the supposedly correct tool for that. 2 or 3 of mine were secured with zip ties instead of replacement connectors because I could not wrangle them free.

a design that winds up in brittle connectors is a truly stupid one, IMO

Well, it’s been maybe 15K miles and 4 years at most, and guess who’s truck is misfiring again?

I just replace cylinder no. 2 injector OEM 265.00 due to a misfire when hot but ran fine when cold. I wish now I would have replaced all six because I’m sure I will be back in there again.

If one connector out of 4 or 6 is brittle, then the rest will follow soon. Better to spend a little time replacing them while everything is apart than to take it all apart again in a few months.

Anyone know a part number for the correct connector pigtails?

    T0p d0g,
That's Hella expensive for just 1 injector. Even OEM.
When my time comes for replacing mine, I plan on sending all 6 to Injector Masters for rebuild, providing they are still in business at that time.

I am curious as well about the pigtail connectors/lines

I've done that with replacement connectors from Rock Auto. Carefully de-pin the broken plastic connector body and slip the original Toyota pins/wires into the new body without cutting, soldering or splicing anything.

^^^Replacement connectors sometimes come disassembled which saves work de-pinning both the old and new connectors. One advantage of disassembling a connector is the checking the glands and seals. I reassemble everything with a bit of Sil-Glyde so the connectors snap together and pull apart easily.

I've never de-pinned a connector before, is it any easier than splicing in a new pigtail?
    Appreciate the help here.

    De-pinning the best way
(Unless you’re a bad-ass user of soldering gun)
    Be aware
The 1st pigtail depinning might take an hour
Once you get the/your process down
    The rest are much easier
    I use multiple picks/awls
Once pin is released, pretty much falls out
If your pulling on wires/pigtails to release, you’re doing it wrong

Ordered new connectors and will work on them this weekend.
Been looking at de-pinning tools and there are a bunch of them.
    Anyone have ones they like?
