How to fix this molding?

    Noticed this piece of molding was coming undone. I asked around and some people suggested to rip it off and forget about it, saying it isn’t a water seal but it looks like this trim covers up the front of the dash as well. I found universal trim/molding on eBay that has 3m tape on one side and think if I rip off the original and place the 3m trim over it will work. Any other suggestions?

    Yes. No different then windshield rubber/glue. Can always remove the 5200 with a putty knife later down the road if need be.

    That part of the cowl cover doesn’t actually seal anything to a point where it’s water tight. The windshield itself it’s what creates the seal for the cabin of the truck. That trim keeps debris and critters from getting into the cowl, which in turn keeps them out of the cabin air filter. It’s not super important that you replace that small piece of molding as long as it’s tight against the glass. If anything I’d look at a complete aftermarket trim piece or go OEM
