4 wheel high not engaging

    2002 Tacoma TRD 4x4 offroad
    I have new to me 2002 Tacoma 4x4 automatic with push button in shift knob for 4 high. I can shift to 4 low and 4 wheel drive works but in 4 high will not engage. What should I look for? The only 4x4 I have had before was 1977 jeep cj5 all manual with Dana 20 transfer case. I have followed owners manual on shifting to 4 high but still not working.
