So I'm doing a Prerunner to 4x4 conversion using the Inchworm adapter and extension housing on the 2wd transmission and everything was going pretty smooth until it came time to install the crossmember. I understand that the mount sits further back about an 1" but the crossmember is sitting way lower than i want like 2 inches. I am using a 4x4 crossmember and had to cut it in 3 sections. I've seen posts with people fabbing up crossmembers but idk if there's a difference between the Prerunner and 4wd frame mounts. Anyone do this conversion using the Inchworm adapter? If so, what did you do about the crossmember? Any help is appreciated.

Just by looking at the pictures the adapter attached to the crossmember looks to be your problem. Seems like that part should sit a lot closer or not be there at all and everything would line up. Have you checked the clearance without it?

Are referring to the transmission mount or the crossmember piece attached to it? I'm actually fabbing up a crossmember now similar to the one saw in here. 2x3 rectangular tube notched and factory mount pad welded into the notch. It'll be even all the way across

Prerunner mounts are 1” higher and around 1” back (pointing to rear carrier).

Thanks for the pictures guys. I mounted the crossmember I fabbed up and it does the job. Now waiting for my driveshafts. I'm going with a 1pc rear driveshaft and having the front lengthened. hc_1525893029048.jpg

    Nice cross member.

I didn’t have to lengthen front shaft

Did you use the 4x4 transmission or did you go the inchworm adapter route?

I went with the inchworm adapter and it pushes everything back a few inches.

It's not perfectly straight from the factory either
I'm running a procomp 6" drop bracket lift up front and on the rear I did a Chevy leaf spring swap with 14" travel shocks

I'm in the same predicament with the transmission cross member. Anyone know of any outfit selling a kit so I don't have to modify the existing cross member?
