    Hey all,
    2014 access cab Tacoma.
For a few years now a slight annoying noise in sync with bumps and road vibrations has come from the passenger side. I used to think it was the door panel.
Its slowly gotten worse and worse over the years.
Eeck, eeck, eeck, eeck, eeck, with the vibrations of the road or bumps. its like a plastic rubbing noise. a somewhat high pitched squeak. almost like styrofoam rubbing on something. like the noise when you have a old school styrofoam cooler in your boat and it rubs on the side of the boat... sort of like that.
I took the door apart. Can't find it. Taped down everything in the door.
    Noise continues.
Its not the seatbelt. Its INSIDE the truck. Passenger side. Might be the seat? Might be the door still?
Its getting so bad I can't drive on bumpy roads without going nuts and cursing.
    ideas? thanks.

I think I have the same issue in my truck. Have noticed it for probably 6 years now and can't pinpoint it.

Here is something to try the next time you hear it:

While you are driving and you hear the noise, take your right hand and cup it around your right ear so that the open part of the "cup" faces forward.
If the sound is coming from in front of you, you will hear it.
Then cup your hand around your right ear so that the open part of the cup faces backward.
If the sound is coming back behind, you'll hear it.

I think my sound originates from the passenger footwell area, but sometimes I swear it also comes from the dome light on the ceiling.

I've had a friend ride in the passenger seat so maybe he could hear it, but his body being there literally prevented the noise from being heard, so the sound is really something you can only hear while you are driving alone LOL.

Someone being there makes me think seat. Like when the seat is weighted, no noise.... so something in the seat. seat back? head rest?

I took the interior door panel off last night and drove around without it. Still heard the noise. I have pinpointed that it is coming from the Passenger seat itself. Its something in the seat or below it. Headrest? Seat back? One of those many wiring harnesses under the seat?
