I don’t typically make posts about bad transactions that I have made,

But the Toyota forums that I belong to are a community and if there are scammers I think they should be called out.

I have bought items from Joe before and always paid will PayPal to protect myself without any issues.

I needed a new brake cylinder and texted Joe Joe and he said 215.00.

I wanted to pay with PayPal but he said that was not an option and had to be Zelle.

I made that payment, a week later I received the item and it was from a completely different year and truck, long story short, I returned it and now going on four months later still no refund and no response from phone calls or texts.

    I’ve been scammed.

Just my personal experience paid with Zelle and a word of caution if you use Joe Joe.

Anyone else been scammed? By him?

His website is down as of today, so just be careful,

Never bought from (or even heard of) this person before. Zelle is almost always a bad idea because there is no buyer protection. If someone requires Zelle payment that’s a red flag.

Are the prices that much better than toyotapartsdeal or OEM suppliers on Rock Auto, etc?

Isn’t that face basically the epitome of shady deals?

That means his merchant acct was shut down, likely due to bad conduct.

I’m actually in his Facebook group page. I’ve never ordered from him though. Too many conflicting experiences from him for me to order parts for my dd.

He has a cult following who will run to his defense anytime something very questionable happens. I wouldn't do business with him based off of all the folks griping about his business practices.

Lots of negative and of course his cult followers on the 1st gen FB group. He's been questionable for some time now from what I recall seeing posted in that group. Never really considered him given so many unknowns and I'd prefer to stick with partsouq or one of the reputable online dealerships/parts counters.

Sorry you got burned bro - hopefully there is some traction in your favor. I do remember seeing someone posting about a group action to try and recoup, if it comes across my feed again I'll PM a link to you.

Read Reddit or any of the 1st Gen Tacoma groups on Facebook. Dude is a scammer and is currently under investigation for fraud.

Has an extensive criminal record too.

In those groups all his personal info has been posted as well as all his aliases.

Lastly there are some class action lawsuits being formed in those groups if you want to explore.

He's been scamming people for years, and new threads come up often about how he's scammed someone new.

He isn't on the forum (that I know of) and we'd like to keep it that way.

Anyway, he just buys parts from a local dealer at a discount (same one many of us can all get) and ships them to "buyers".

He's kept money from many of his buyers if parts took too long, were on backorder, or were discontinued.

Going through him is a complete waste of time and money and offers no benefit other than having someone find the right part number for you. Not to mention he's got a lot of priors that many others have shared countless times.

This is remedied by using sources like Partsouq to help you find the correct part numbers for your own vehicle.

I know you've used him in the past with success, but a quick Google search would definitely steer me away. Sorry to hear about your situation.

Been buying from him for many years without a single issue. He always beats the prices I show him when he gives me comparable prices to a Toyota website.

I haven't bought anything lately though. Not sure what's going on with his website but this is the first I hear about it being shut down.

This one's from last year, and while not a scam, interesting that it's stated the part the OP needed was discontinued

But yeah it keeps going and going and this is just from one single Tacoma group

A guy in the Tundra community is going after him. There are a bunch of Tundra owners who are looking for him.

No worries for me I would never buy from any parts distributor called Joe Joe with a Joker picture for his branding.

Zelle is very useful for moving funds around between various family accounts. Also some friends (not aquaintences) who are local and or well vetted.

There are lots of reports (son is a banker, works loss as part of his duties) and there are lots of stories of folks losing a bundle via Zelle. But when you get to the truth of it, it's neither the fault of the bank or Zelle. It's a poor decision by the sender.
