This happens while i'm using it while driving, it's most annoying when using the nav and you drive to a an unfamiliar location. I have the latest firmware version ( 1.58). I was so close to take it to the Best Buy guy who installed it, since I'm suspicious of some power malfunction. Then I decided to check for firmware update and found a new version. Updated and all of sudden the freezing went away, only for a week, then it was back. Has anyone of you guys, who installed this unit or others, had this type of issue and do you think it's hardware issue?

I've been through several Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX units for failures. Link here to my build thread where I keep a running tally of crashes, it's not fun. I have done repairs. I have done replacements. I have bought a 2nd unit. All of them failed, all of them had random reboots on many different firmware versions (mine is on 3.06 currently with no improvement). I think they used under-sized cooling fans leading to thermal failure based on my experiences. Pioneer as a brand ain't what it used to be.

Also if you haven't seen there is a completely separate area for Audio/Video topics, probably get more help there if mods can move the thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/audio-video.12/

This makes sense because mine does it on hot days...
