I don't have a gen 4 (yet), but for what its worth I can tell you I definitely didn't miss the extra room for too long after downsizing from the Tundra to a gen 3 Tacoma. Just much more manageable parking, better off road, still rides great, and the gas mileage is almost literally twice what I was getting. I'll never do a full size again after 5 years in the Tundra that I thought I loved.

Yes I just bit the bullet today. Hated to get rid of old one but happy with the new one.
Went from 2017 Pro to 2025 Pro.

I’m glad to see I’m not the only one, I went from a tundy to the 3G taco too. I do miss the V8 and space on long trips but the thing was so effin big. I definitely don’t regret going smaller overall tho, the thing fits everywhere and still meets my needs.

Another thing I noticed recently is how much easier it is to change the plugs on the 4th gen taco vs the 3rd gen tundra now that Toyota decided to have plugs replaced at 40k miles. The only thing negative I have to say about the taco is the rear headrest angles. Outside of that I love everything about the 4th gen Tacoma. Another huge plus is the lack of air dam on the I-force trd offroad vs an active aero spoiler that can’t be removed without throwing a code or a CBI module that works 90% of the time or take off the spoiler and leave the motors. Standard bed lights now on all models of the Tacoma vs having to get pkgs on the tundra to get bed lights. The 4th gen taco engineering really works. The tundra center console is like rattle monsters with the sliding trays and the Tacoma having a solid center console like the 4Runner is just purely awesome. Also love how you can get a base TRD offroad with a mechanical tailgate, manual adjustable seats and 14” screen.
