IF the light just turns green and all y'all start moving, it is the polite thing to do to let one car out of the lot and into traffic

Of course you should not just stop in moving traffic to let someone in but the above situation is the appropriate way to act around here

We need mandatory retraining every 10 years or so on driving. Where you have to take a test on some of this stuff.

I have literally been following all the same rules I learned at 16 to this day.

And by the way, using a turn signal gives me wood. lol

this ENTIRE thread proves that other drivers don't know shit about the rules of the road, heck most of em can't even park between two straight lines, much less drive in between two straight lines

Same, if I'm coming to a stop anyway for a light and someone is trying to get in or if I'm at the light and the person in the lot is a good shit using their signal and being patient, I'll let em in anytime.

Here’s what I see that others (people on the roads) don’t is situational awareness. It’s fucking gone. Like a fart in the wind. Not expecting all to be Ayrton Senna but for fucks sake the percentage of people either not paying attention to the situation at the certain location or looking at their phone or just plain can’t take 2 turns without forgetting where their supposed to be going is skyrocketing. Especially the teslas. They either think they own the road or can’t maneuver a construction zone because their car doesn’t know how to deal with revisions. It’s a cultural thing here too to let people out. I’m OK with that but to slam your back brakes is fucktard county. But here’s the rub. The new thing here that I noticed the past few years (hmm. I wonder who was running the country at the time has anything to do with it) is when someone wants out they will drift forward or even lurch to intimidate those coming into stopping. Like 2 for flinching but more like haha I got you to stop and I’m cutting you off haha. And do y get me started on the zipper lanes people running up the right one to dive into a line…..

 

I'm all for courtesy when it's convenient and doesn't put the person who has the right of way on their back foot or at an incovenience. Don't change the rules of the road.

A perfect example is a 4 way stop standoff.
You leave in the order you arrive! Don't wave someone else through if you arrived first.

If you're letting cars out of a parking on a green light instead of during the red light, you're not putting everyone behind you at an inconvenience as well.

But you are correct Kbar, people are just so reckless and dangerous.

And the reason they are is because they can't be inconvenienced.

Speaking of dangerous.....North Carolinians don't know that when traffic lights are NOT working, they are unlit, or down because of a power outage or whatever - that is a STOP SIGN. If there's 2 ways and the lights are out for all 4 directions, it's a 4 way stop!

I see people just blowing through these intersections.

 

Not a good idea, I could fill 20 pages real fast...



Just today, I was on a curvy hilly road doing 55 in a posted 50mph with a very fun 35mph banked curve coming up, well there is a staggard cross road, on the outer side of the curve you have a great view of vehicles coming both ways, on the inner side not so much, anyway, I was planning on hitting the curve doing 55mph, but some jack ass (outer side of the curve) waits till I am close to the curve and decides to pull out in front of me and drag their ass, I had to brake hard and the driver was not in a hurry, they only got up to about 40mph before turning a mile down the road... uggg... lol
BTW, I have been driving this road for 38 years now, I know it like the back of my hand...

The problem with my part of the world is people from all over are moving here, and all the locals are complaining about their driving...

 

Wish I could post all the videos from my dashcam. More and more idiots are moving down here and they have no clue how to drive.
