Does anyone here have any experience with Takomo golf clubs? I've been looking at them and very tempted to pull the trigger but my season is almost over in the part of Canada. Probably just wait till next yr at this point.

I don't think anyone on TW plays golf anymore :anonymous:. I joined the thread/started playing June last year and I think since then, I've mainly talked to myself lol

If anyone cares, my golf game has improved tremendously since starting back in June. I've played probably 2-3 times/month since then, and my 130+ scores have finally been consistently at 100. It was cool to break 100 (have shot a 98, 99, and a few 100's) finally, and its rare I take a mulligan off the tee box anymore, although I most definitely still do a few times a round. Within the last year, I've come to realize one thing: once you finally get something figured out, its gone next round.. I was super consistent with irons at first, couldn't hit wedge, couldn't hit driver straight; the last few rounds, my driver is somehow excellent, wedge shots are money, and can't hit irons. I've finally come around to why people love and respect the game of golf so much; I didn't understand it for years. This shits just plain hard.

Golf is definitely one of those love/hate relationships. Knocking 30 strokes off your score in such a short time is quite commendable. I vowed to play more often once I retired and have found it's a game that you have to play to get any better at (aren't all sports really). Since I started playing 2 to 3 times a week, a few tips from a friend (scratch golfer, US collegiate), I don't slice into the tick infested boonies anywhere near as much, hit more fairways, actually one putt greens and usually drive it past the ladies tees. Sometime all on one hole. Consistency is what we all strive for and what's so darn difficult. I like to say I'm consistently inconsistent.
Anyway, I sit and watch Rory McIlroy chuck one off into the trees and say to myself, "see, I can golf just like a pro".
    Cheers.

Anyone have any recommendations for any one push cart over another? I had grown content with going for a Caddytek cart off Amazon, but still keep coming back to the Bagboy Nitron. It seems most carts, including the cheap ones, have nearly all the features I want - but none have the quality of features (such as cup holder design) as the Bagboy.

I have a ClicGear. Quality piece. Rolls smooth and easy, folds well and compact. Gets bashed around but still performs like new. New models have an improved water bottle holder.
    Cheers.

I picked up golf in May of this year and I'm currently averaging low 90's with zero mulligans and counting tournament style. I'm young and played baseball growing up so the hand eye coordination on the swinging motion comes natural. Took me about a month to break 100. Then stagnated at 97's. Took a lesson to get my iron setup more proper for compressing the ball rather than sweeping through, and a few pointers on my driver setup that helped with consistency and limiting the slice. I've got a tendency to push it right but its not spinny just pushed.

I've been playing 3 times a week lol. repetition. A buddy has a presidential membership to 5 courses here in town so I'll play $160 8 AM tee times for 50 bucks when I'm with him. Ball flies pretty easy at renos elevation so I try to play whatever tees are about 6500 yards. I'll go less If the slope ratings over 135 and a real tough course or horrendous wind of 15+ sustained gusts of 25. First eagle was a par 4 downhill dogleg right. hit 290 off the tee then holed out from 40 yards after landing the ball exactly where i tapped the fringe with my club mentally marking my spot. Gonna have to slow down soon though since goin into the Navy and flight school. Just enjoying it in the meantime since I won't get hurt playing golf :)

Any of you folks close to west TN? I’m always looking to play but don’t have anyone around that plays, I don’t mind playing by myself but like to meet other folks out there.

Well I ended up buying the Takomo 101T clubs. Sold my Titleist AP1 before I played a round with the 101T. Have played about 10 rounds so far and absolutely HATE these clubs, every time I hit the ball it feels like I'm hitting a rock, I even put softer grip on hoping it would dampen the vibration but it hasn't. All the clubs lofts are 3-4 degree higher than the AP1 so my whole game is thrown off. Wish I had realized there was such a difference before hand. Starting to look for new irons but definitely will be trying them before I buy again, lesson learned the hard way.
Would not recommend these clubs as an upgrade. Handicap has gone up by 5 easy.

I swung some of a friends and they felt alright but I don’t know much. I like my AI smokes. I could be wrong but isn’t feel equally impacted by shaft choice too? Did you make any drastic change there or just swapped heads

edit: gonna play my first PGA course next week. Private club in reno that used to host the barracuda. Friend worked there so can get us in. Fully anticipate to shoot over 100 that round but it’s for the experience not the score
