1998 Tacoma Transmission Trouble Shifting into Third Gear

1998 gray Tacoma

Hey, I just purchased a manual 1998 Tacoma TRD 4x4 SR5. It has been having issues with rough shifting. Specifically any shift involving third gear. I’ve heard that this is common with this year. I did a fluid change and it made a small difference. Anyone had this problem? Any ideas as to the issue? I’m hoping it’s something other than the synchronizers.
