The off road shop cracked my discharge hose (88703-04020) from my A/C compressor when replacing coils or steering box. I drove it maybe 25 miles before it lost its cool.
the part is about 136 shipped from Olathe . Any advice about putting it on?
do I need to dis charge the system and capture the gas prior to replacing this part?
How difficult is it to replace?
What does a decent shop charge to pull a vacuum and recharge the system?
I live in Las Vegas NV.

If the system isn't empty then yes you should have the refrigerant recovered first.

Just nuts and bolts to install the line, make sure to replace the seals if the new line doesn't come with them.

I would expect a shop would probably charge around half to one hour of labor plus refrigerant to vacuum and recharge the system so that will vary depending on labor rates.

Have you checked with the shop that damaged the line? If they indeed damaged it they should be taking care of it.
