I've thought about getting one as well. Love the red dial and the sweeping quartz movement. But Casio Oceanus first.

it wasn't all that long ago that I first learned about vph and ticks per second. I was wondering why people on reddit were posting videos of second hands sweeping across the face. I didn't know why they were showing that lol

love the red sunburst on that Bulova though.

yeah the history is the only reason to have some of these repaired. I’m any to drop 400 on a watch service when I can find an almost identical one on eBay’s for 200. I’ve got a couple of other really old watches from my grandfather that are purely mechanical wind ones and I know nothing about them. I’m pretty sure they were probably his dads but that history was lost with him. I didn’t even know he had watches before these were given to me. They wore slap out but the one on the left still keeps good time.image.jpg

The GF picked up this bad boy at an estate sale this weekend for $2.50. The battery was a little wet with leaking acid. Removed the bad battery, cleaned up a little corrosion and put in a new battery. Good as new! Well except the band is slightly broken so I'll get a cheap band. All in will probably cost more than it was new. Lol

Love those old digital watches. My grandad gave me a couple as a child that had the Massey Ferguson logo on it from when he bought his tractor. I wish I had the foresight to actually take care of it instead of lose it or break it doing dumb stuff.

I went through with it and acquired one today. The red is better in person, my camera can't capture it. The sunburst goes darker on the outside edge like pigeon blood ruby or something.

Sim rounds are no joke. My G shock hasn't had any direct hits to the sapphire but it's definitely been marked. We forget how much zip they have being gloved up in full kit.

The digital watch talk reminds me of the Lorus I had in grade school, I remember being mesmerized by its functions, stop watch, showing the day, it was sort of like a graduation from being a little kid to a big kid - being responsible for an alarm and being on time.

Great memories. I think this is the model I had.

I’ll play! Decent watch tan here. I’m a teacher so I’ve been spending as much of my summer break outside working in the yard or playing. Pictured here in the rav4 and not the Tacoma, though.IMG_3011.jpg
