Looking for some help. I have a 2021 TRD Sport 2WD with a 3.5 and automatic. Not sure about the gear hunting I see and hear about. My truck seems to not “hunt”, but shift as quickly as possible to higher gear and power falls flat. While I drive to & from work, engine is usually less than 1500 rpm. At highway speed 70, engine is about 1800 rpm or so.

My truck is close to 70k miles mark, so out of any warranty from OEM. I have seen several OTT tunes on Tacoma trucks lately that got my interest up. I like my truck as is, but wonder if tune could improve it. My mileage is one thing I like on the truck, at fill-up, miles to empty is like 421 miles, kinda nice.

All that to get to a question, on a daily driver, mostly open roads would a tune make a difference? Would it help or hurt MPG?

    Thoughts?
