Well something failed and knocked a hole in the timing chain cover at 230k miles.

Yeah it's really weird cause the engine been running fine without that one rocker . You can see on the cam wear that it's been of for awhile. Also I think i know what sucked into the oil pump and made the gear explode. You can see in the pics what's missing in the middle of the cam chains. Can get the timing case off either because the gear chunks are blocking it. So it's very ongoing.20250727_183456.jpg 20250727_183441.jpg

On the other guy’s motor, from what he said one of the needle bearings in the roller of one of the rockers actually fell out, went down into the sump and got picked up. The rocker that’s out of place on yours - does it roll nice and smooth or is the roller loose in place and can be wiggled around?

I can’t really see the photos well enough to see what’s going on with the cam chain.

The rocker is in great condition. Nothing wrong with it. Yeah you have to look in the middle of the chain and compare what's missing. I wish I could circle it in red my bad.

Hydraulic lash adjuster is a difference. .
But even, I can't see how it could be ejected out without any damage the the it.

Don’t the 3URFE, 2GRFE, and 2GR-FKS all have the same style lash adjuster setup? Or are some of them using bucket lifters?

Yeah, I don’t get how his is out of place unless something broke.

As I’m searching, I’m seeing lash adjusters and rocker arms on all of those engines. That was why I mentioned them initially, was I thought I was maintaining an apples to apples comparison.

The strainer has a mesh. I dont see how FODs can get sacked in.
