I have been searching for subs recently for my truck and found it’s very expensive due to the lack of space. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations or ideas? I don’t mine building a box, must go behind the seats or at least not be exposed, size does not matter, and I’d prefer it to be under $300.

Also found an oemaudio sub at a good deal but was from a 2005 and I was wondering if that fits the 2018 too?

I’ve got some JL Audio 8” subs in behind the rear seat tucked in the storage. It’s a little higher than your max, but still thought I’d mention it: JL Audio CP108LG-W3v3. Don’t have to hassle with building a box and fit behind seats with minor cutting. Seems to be some decent subs without box in your range and you can just build a box around those.

I doubt that the 2005 OEMAudio would fit a 3rd gen but I could be wrong.

This is my sub set up. For around $500 or less altogether, I think it's a good bang for your buck without sacrificing decent quality. Are there other options that are better? Absolutely, but if you're looking for budget that is the route that I went. I slowly purchased and researched these components over a few months time so the cost wasn't all at once either.

Box: Ebay. Fits behind rear driver seat with plastic removed. For the price, I have no complaints.

    Sub: Kicker 10" CompC

Amp: Kicker 46CXA4001 and (optional) Bass Remote Control

Wiring: 8 gauge kit and additional (optional - but recommended) 40 amp kit

Etc: Add an Amp wiring kit to make it plug and play.

I have seen a used one of these but it is the single that might be the way to go if I can get a good deal on it.

Thanks this seems like a good option. I have never had a kicker subwoofer before, how good is the quality of that sub and box combo and how low does it go?

I'm quite happy with it for $420 total (I did the math on all the components now haha)! I still have the stock HU, but upgraded all door speakers to 6x9 kicker speakers and have the Subaru tweeters. The sub overpowers the speakers, but I've tinkered with the tuning to get it to sound more balanced. It's not going to be setting off car alarms or having the next door neighbors call the cops or anything, but inside the truck I think it sounds great and have received a ton of compliments on how it sounds when others get in my truck. This is of course, subjective to me. I was rather impressed for the component list not being "audiophile" level. I think for the average person this kind of equipment is absolutely best bang for buck.

I do want to add a kicker key amp to the door speakers at some point as well.

I'm very impressed with my 8" underseat "Powered" Sub. If I were to do it again, I would buy a 10" underseat Sub (if it fits), and place the 8" under the passenger seat.

It requires low voltage, so splicing it with the useless rear speakers behind the HU was perfect! I did that and the Tweeter upgrade and my system is quite loud. I get full volume (62) without distortion.

Rarely am I disappointed with the Bass, but of course there are times when it's never loud enough, since I like loud Classic Rock & Metal.

I’m thinking of going with the kicker 6x9s too at some point. I would be running the amp since I want something louder while still giving great quality.

The kicker speakers and tweeters do quite well without extra amplification! Way better than the stock speakers! But an amp always makes it better.

This ported and powered 8" rockford sounds much larger than its size and fits in the bin behind the seat.

It's what I've been running and love it. Factory head unit paired with a Alpine Power Pack to drive aftermarket speakers. It's balanced and has more range and volume than the Mark Levinson in our GX550.
