DiamondBack. Don't get me started. I don't know what I can and can't say without negative legal ramifications. I'll just say I've had some interesting 'discussions' with their tech support/customer service. And no, even if they are into you for $1500 worth of products, you don't get a free hat.

    That's unfortunate.

I'm saving up for an SE...which pricing has gone up dramatically since I first started wanting one in 2021-22.

I’m not saying anything negative about their products, even though they are overpriced IMO, just their TS/CS.

IMG_1799.jpgWell, boys and girls, here it is. The Sony XAV-9500es installed yesterday after sitting in the box for a couple weeks anxiously waiting for me to finish another project.
Drove home from my brother’s house after the install and even without fine tuning the music with all the options this bad boy has to offer, the Focals were ALIVE. Whooo hooo!

I did it on my 2nd gen, hardest parts are lining up the holes and not stripping out the hardware

It'll be the same process. But yeah otherwise, very easy.

From an earlier post when I did mine...

I was disappointed in the Toyota QC on these. Both were not seated in their lower channels, I was able to fix this with a trim tool.

Before I could do that however I had to de-burr the bottom channels. There are 5-ish of these openings on the bottom of the rails that allows the top/bottom parts to clip together. 2-3 of these on each rail had plastic burrs that needed to be removed in order for them to function as designed.

I got the OEM version with the idea that it was a factory direct fit, therefore no muss no fuss. And with only 15 Torx screws, a little cleaning, silicon application (neutral curing), this process should only take about an hour for both. But between the problems above, plus extremely poor screw to hole alignment, this turned into a 3+ hour wrestling match. Not sure if this is more of a comment on my abilities or Toyota's QC...but I'm gonna blame Toyota to make myself feel better. :D:D:D

This is exactly why I'm going aftermarket with this truck.

    I figured.

I don't anticipate any questions since there are tons of videos for install.

But if I do have to call...that's another story.

I'm sure I won't run into any issues.

Yanked out the overhead panel with the lights in it cause it made a vibrating noise on dirt roads. Stuffed some 3/16" ? packaging foam on either side of the SOS button and it seems to have cured it !

My best advice is pony up for the actual OEM, not one of the dozens of aftermarket that juuuuust barely won’t line up for your threads and risk cross-threading, cursing, weird gaps. Lesson learned.

I'd have to re read the forum rules. I thought 50 posts was to sell, but maybe it's to buy as well?

Is there one that only extends to edge of the hood and not past it (like the wrap around look on your truck)? May seem silly, but I honestly only want one that goes to the edge of the hood and stops.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I just re-read the rules. They pretty much assume that if you post in the BST area that you are selling...unless you specifically title your thread WTB. It's possible even WTB threads have to follow the 50 post rule, but that's not the way it's worded.
