no comms right now checked all the fuses and relays everything ok except for the central pink 30 amp fuse that is suppoused to power the back sliding window changed it and keeps blowing it, dissasembled the back of the cabin to see if the motor was flooded too but no water on that part everything clean, disconnected all the line in the passenger side also the passenger front and rear doors and keep blowing it. looked at the diagram and there is a relay maybe the relay is making this fuse to blow the thing is already blowed 5 fuses @ 8 dlls each in autozone prefered to order 10 fuses in ebay lol. all the other windows in working condition up and down side mirrors in working condition dome light working horn working all lights working already checked all the ground connectors

thomasburk when the truck arrived like 2 months ago there was still moisture as you comment i removed all the carpets and with Mcallen TX wather around 100 right now everything is more than dry!!

Let's ignore that fuse for now and focus on getting communication going, once we get to that there's much better ways to find the short than to keep popping fuses.

First we need to determine if the truck has a Network Gateway ECU or not, if it does it will be on the right end of the dash. It has a single 30 pin connector.

You won it because the myriad of body shops that make good money fixing and flipping salvage titled Tacomas didn't want anything to do with it.

Have you tried turning the engine over by hand? Of the water was over the dash, it was in the engine too. And if your assumptions are correct and they were driving it, you most likely will need a new engine as the rods are most likely bent from hydrolocking. I wouldn’t spend another dime until you know the condition of the engine/transmission.

    Are you certain?
Wiring diagrams are kind of conflicting, on the `23 Network diagram it shows 6 and 14 of the DLC go directly to the Network Gateway ECU but some other wires in the diagram are foot-noted "With Network Gateway ECU"

On the DLC diagram it shows after Nov 2017 production date 6 and 14 of the DLC goes to the Network Gateway ECU.

I can't find an actual photo location of it either, the schematics show it up behind the glovebox on the right.

@Bishop84 you know anything about this?

@Vlady seems to have a good nit of knowledge on the 3rd Gens.
    Maybe he can pitch in.

I'll see what I can find in the mean time.

I mean everything I'm finding in service info says it should be equipped on a 23, I can't find an actual location though.
If it's indeed not equipped wiring diagrams are gona be difficult because they show it being there.

I hate 3rd gen wiring diagrams, so many footnotes with build dates, plants, options, etc and things conflict in some cases.

Yea the FSM shows the same thing with no good reference to it's location other than it's on the right side of the dash.

Maybe, just maybe we can catch a glimpse of it in a video.

I'm thinking maybe the honeycomb thing is where the duct for the right vent attaches maybe?
It seems to be higher up in the dash then the other ECUs

Geez what a nightmare :anonymous: Good for you OP for keeping a good attitude about it.
My suggestion would be gut the whole truck, LS swap it with a new standalone ECU, custom wiring harness, and rock on :ballchain:
