It isn’t super loud, especially at lower speeds but it does get louder at around 40 then goes away around 65. Shifting to 4H definitely made a difference although I don’t believe it’s 100% gone but I could be hearing things. I’m thinking I’ll have the ECGS put on and test it out then have them remove the diff drop taken off if the noise isn’t gone. Luckily they’re a reputable place and promised to do any extra work to get it to work how it’s supposed to.

Nice to have a trusted mechanic! I’ve done everything DIY but the for ECGS I did take it to a friends shop when he had an open bay/time just in case I needed an extra hand (I Did) :rofl:pounding the bushing in!

I'm amazed Toyota still uses the same needle bearing design on the driver front. I've replaced over 40 of them on Tacomas/4runners. Look forward to staying busy doing those on 4th gens.

I had the same problem on my Tacoma I’m really thankful for your post it solve my problem I would never buy from icon again. The only difference drop the works is from ready lift the lower all three brackets but they don’t sell it separately unfortunately.

I just installed mine with the Eibach Stage 2r lift kit. My axles seem to be the same height. I did however have to fill up my front differential about maybe a 1/4 of a quart

I just installed Icon coil overs and their provided diff drop kit on my '25 TRDOR. I had the same experience, noticeable vibration and noise. Luckily, my mechanic caught it before I left. He had a sensing device that could be clipped on specific areas on the truck to pick up noise/vibration and he verified it was coming from the differential. You could feel vibration in the diff with the truck jacked up and spinning the front tires by hand. We removed the diff drop kit and all noise/vibration went away. I'm in the process of trying to get a refund from Icon. The CV angle does look pretty steep so I'm hoping I find a drop kit that doesn't cause this issue.

Too bad there isn't a company that makes longer cv axles. I'm sure someone could fab some.
