Can someone say with any definity if 1st gen Tundra rims would fit the 1st gen Taco without fitment issues, not using spacers and running 265/75/16? I have been trying to find out on different sites but can't get a straight answer

Mostly cosmetic but she ain’t stock(looking) anymore.
Find out what the offset is, if they are not lower than 15mm offset they will rub.

Is the hub bigger on the Tundra?

I’m not sure but it would make sense for a full size truck, I believe 1st Gen Tacoma bore hole is 139.7. Sorry I can’t do the research right now, just google it.

1st gen Tundra front suspension and hubs are basically identical to 1st gen Tacomas, other than being on a wider frame with longer CVs. Bore dimension is 106.1mm for both. The wheels will fit just like the stock Tacoma wheels. 265/75 (32”) tires may rub a bit on pinch weld, mud flaps, etc.

@drr Thanks for chiming in. I don't see many 1st gen Tacos running 1st gen Tundra/Sequoia rims so i thought there had to be an issue. Even google said the bore size was different. I believe the offset is different though. I am not rubbing now with 3rd gen 4runner rims bit might with the Tundra rims?

Google: No, 1st gen Toyota Tundra rims generally won't fit a 1st gen Tacoma without modifications. The main issue is the center bore diameter, which is different between the two vehicles. While both use a 6x139.7mm bolt pattern, the Tundra's larger center bore means the Tacoma's hub won't sit flush, and the lug nuts won't align properly

    • Center Bore:
The center bore is the diameter of the hole in the center of the wheel that fits over the hub on the vehicle. The Tundra's center bore is larger than the Tacoma's, preventing the wheel from seating properly.

I haven't tried them myself, but from everything I know I'd expect those wheels to fit exactly the same as any factory Tacoma wheel. The bolt pattern is the same, the hub bore is the same, the only thing that might be different is offset, but I think Tundras used the same +15mm that 1st gen Tacomas did.

Remember, 1st gen Tundras were available with the same "starfish" wheel that came on later 1st gen Tacomas.

 Not sure where that information is coming from, reads like something AI would spit out because it makes no sense. If the Tundra’s center bore is larger, why wouldn’t it sit flush on a Tacoma hub? And why wouldn’t the lug studs align if they have the same lug pattern?

For reference, 1st gen Tundra’s were from 2000-2006. They have a matching 6x5.5 lug pattern and 106mm hub bore, same as a Tacoma, T100, 1st gen Sequoia, and 4Runner. https://circuitoffroad.com/wheel-fitment-guide/

If you're able, could you weigh one of the rims? I'm curious how that style compares to other OE rims.

@6P4 The rims still have tires mounted on them. When I get them dismounted, I will weigh one for you

24lbs sounds right, and not bad, but I was hoping they'd be lighter--the 4Runner 5-star rims (on the Tacoma in your first post) are 22lbs.

Maybe they are a little heavier because they went on only the Tundras and Sequoias
