Cool lil piece of tech that came through the shop. This is how they censor/bleep curse words (and video) on live television.

My buddy who is a lead Toyota tech, has been taking care of some issues on the GX after hours while I've been working long hours.

    Things fixed or changed are:

Turned off the auto-away tilt wheel. It still worked though I thought it was annoying.
Airbag light turned out to be a loose bag connection behind the horn button.
Spongy brakes were from rotors that needed to be turned.
    Needed a front end alignment.
Needed differential and transfer case lube change.
The gear shifter would not stay in 4 to turn off OD. There is a repair kit with spring to fix that.
    Adjusted the hand brake
Cleaned out the PS reservoir. It was obstructing fluid flow that resulted in stiff steering on some turns. It has a new rack.
Just a bunch of odd and ends to get it ready for a trip to Colorado during the last week of August.
On Friday, August 5th, I will drive from Silverton to SLC UT to attend CruiserFest 16. Will meet Clay Croft and Scott Brady in 2025 after all.

uhg, a couple sets of brand new 37" yoko X-AT Geolanders just popped up locally for a good deal, they seem a little more aggressive than the K03's I was planning to wait for, anyone have experience with them?

    wait...PTO isn't a nationwide thing??

I always use sick days first just because they don't carry over like PTO hours do, we get 5 days of paid sick leave so if you don't use those you lose them at the end of the year.

speaking of, I just realized I never filled out a sick day form when I called in a couple days last month when we all had the stomach flu....

At my old work, people that "lost" their time were those that weren't in that long.

After "x" amount of time with the company, you can accrue "x" and it only increases the longer you're with the company.

Sounds like y'all just got extra time the company decided to classify as sick leave. That's legit.

Reminds me of Justin having taken time off for Moab, only to break his arms/wrists :jerkoff:

Still PTO whether it was vacation or medical

That’s the part that sucks, I don’t want to “waste” it on stupid stuff like Dr appointments or my allergies exploding one day, so I’m less inclined to take care of myself…

We can only roll over 40 hours every year though and I’m always losing some to that cutoff, so IDK why I try to hoard it

I could never let myself lose any time lol

I have to keep an eye on mine, coming up on the cap so I'll be taking a random Friday in the next few weeks to make sure I dont miss out on a minute

Take that time off for sure!

We had another member that was going to join us going to Moab, and we had the route all planned out too

He went out on a dirt bike trip the week before and that's when he suffered a break and/or fracture

Had to change my route and he missed out on the whole trip :bananadead:

The plant shuts down around the holidays so we get two weeks off at the end of every year. My SOP used to be just pack any leftover PTO onto the front and back of that and sometimes I’d end up with like a month off!

My way of thinking changed when I moved into management though, now I work up until the final bell to make sure I can provide coverage for my team who wants to take extra PTO around the holidays, so I lost that safety valve and the cut off always seems to sneak up on me...
