Truck driver b.s.

Well it's my last week and last few days. Never thought I'd see this time in my life. It's exciting and a bit scary all at the same time. Thursday is my last day in a big truck. For the most part trucking has been good to me.

Good morning drivers 3 containers for India and 1 dry van for Canada. The 1 for Canada was loaded with coils that they sent to us to fix and wrap up for sale. But apparently someone talked them into taking them back. I worked outside setting and straightening the yard.
My day ended when lightning was seen.
Hope everyone has a good and safe day today. And for future retiree's good for you. It was a bit strange not having to go to work but you get used to it and doing things on your own time.

 

Well be aware out there.
Last week Thursday my wife and her son team drive for Hobby Lobby. At about 11:50 pm she was on I 57 in Illinois around mm 167 when a large rock larger then a softball came through the windshield. Took out the GPS unit. In fact if not for the GPS it would of hit her. Did damage to sleeper and hood as well as windshield. They both ok, just shook up. Turns out they were one of 5 hit that night. 3 4wheelers 2 18 wheelers. They do run dash cams not sure if anything showed up? State troopers are involved along with local LE. Seems someone or a group were dropping large rocks from the over pass.

 

Man thats b.s. People could have been killed!
Just another reason I'm ready to get out of a big truck. You should see what I see driving in Detroit. Smh.

Just today and tomorrow left. I'm almost there!

 

Here some photos of the damage. The wife kinda over did it on the rock coming through. It didn't. But she said there was glass everywhere.

Well today is the day, finally made it. Up and having my coffee, I've already turned .y alarm clock off. Today I'll clean out my truck and turn in my keys and company ID and close the door on the truck for the last time.
My wife got me a new hat.

Well that's a wrap! I'm officially retired now. Just turned in my keys and I'm going home to my wonderful wife.
