Hello all, Im new to the forum, and excited to start getting tips and tricks on building out my new tacoma.

Im looking for any recommendations for a roof rack, and which ones to stay away from. So far I think I like the Cali Raised one with the folding wind deflector. does anyone have any other recommendations?

Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
What ever someone paid full price, installed and never used and got annoyed with the noise and now has it for sale for less than 50% of what he paid for that you’ll be able to find on CL, FB marketplace or offer up locally. If you want to pay full price give your money to Sherpa. Cheers!

Hey, welcome to the forum and congrats on the new Tacoma build!

We’re stoked to hear you're considering our Premium Roof Rack it’s built specifically with Tacoma owners in mind. The adjustable wind deflector is a big plus if you’re planning to add a light bar down the line, and it helps cut down wind noise when you’re just cruising.

    Some things to know:
    • 100% bolt-on install (no drilling)

    • Built right here in the USA

    • Optional cutouts for lighting, side panel mounts, and integrated wire routing

    • Backed by our lifetime warranty

    • Free Shipping / No Tax
Let us know how you plan to use the rack—hauling gear, RTT, lighting—we’re happy to help you dial it in.

There are lots of great options unless you're waiting for Yakima to update Landing Pads for the 4th generation but they do have towers with clips available.

I suggest considering the function you're after, climate, what you carry. From associates who have the square type with overlander look, I really dislike them for a lot of where racks are used. They're good for a light bar, tool carry etc... but I notice wind noise, ice and snow related matters in winter, not so friendly if this is about carrying a boat or ladder. The bed rack types can mean you have a ladder or boat hanging pretty far back.

One of my favorite purchases is my Fas-Top all in one tonneau and topper and they have a bed rack system that's compatible. I think they have a patent or trademark for the all in one type. The competing brands I think also sponsoring here are definitely good and like them but wow has it been nice to have the all in one type. You get open bed, tonneau or soft topper in moments and also get it all out of the way in moments. A YouTube guy has a video showing how he's added a 2nd screen and insulation for his.

If you want that type or look I don't, the sponsor members here all seem pretty great. Sherpa has a shipping crossbar solution semi-DIY shown in a rack post here that's a permanent mount type but cross bars. They are all metal so give me some hesitation via some more labor to get the tops padded for carrying metal stuff or a boat with metal gunwales.
