    Thanks for the help- I even thought of welding it four years ago, but totally forgot about it! I don’t rock crawl, but I have scraped up my 1/4” Mobtown steel plates often on the old mine roads we go rockhounding on, and the diff plate has taken some hits on the low part and that helped protect it.

    I believe I was involved in that thread. We who wheel rocks just accept the little dings and bangs. The bent seal guard in that thread was to me a non-issue and the leak was more of a weep which I saw no reason to go into and fix... yet. The shop just wanted money. I wondered if the shop went through the trouble of a new crush sleave or just reused the old one - I use all solid spacers so the seals can be easily replaced.
