    First post (other than the new member intro), first of many questions to come

    My truck is pretty much pristine, a few minor scratches here and there but no real dents or damage. Except, the pass side of the fear bumper is bent, obviously someone backed into something at some point (wasn't me! ). I'm also concerned about the amount of rust on the trailer hitch, so I want to take care of that while getting the bumper replaced.

    Let's face it: the stock bumpers on these trucks might as well be made out of tin foil, they are very flimsy and rot out often. So I'd like to get something a little more "durable". I will never take this truck off road, so I don't need something super beefy, and I want to retain the factory tow hitch.

    I'm wondering about the Rough Country rear bumper

    I know they don't have a great reputation, made in China, etc. I read that the powder coating doesn't last, but I guess I'm OK with that. Heck, I have $$$ BudBuilt sliders on my Cruiser and the PC didn't last on those either. But, is the RC bumper really that bad? Not worth it?

    I've looked at other options from MetalTech and Victory, very nice, but $$$ and I just don't need that overkill.

    Is there another brand that's worth considering?

    I had a pristine oem bumper. #2 daugher got hit from behind one of the few times I let her drive it. Minor damage but still too much. Insurance bought me a brand new one. Then #2 daughter backed into somebody at her high school job. I still have the small dent and scratch. She askes often to borrow/drive the truck to this day. You probably know the answer. I am interested in where you finally land, as I will one day get tired of that ding. That, and the factory bumper and hardware require constant attention to rust.

    Totaly unrealated to your post beyond being educated by your search. Just had to finally get that out.

    My similar query prompted this reply;
    I haven't bought it (currently <$200), but it looks good if you want a COMPLETE chrome bumper.

    I'm running the Hooke Road bumper (front and rear) my rear bumper looks suspiciously like the Rough Country, lol. Been on the truck for 3 years with no issues.
