Well first I'd recommend full coverage insurance and second i'd recommend making a enemy of a arsonist...

Seriously though, that's a 10k job to do the frame, minimum. Part the truck out to recoup costs and look for something cleaner in the meantime.

@tombiosis next time pay a mechanic to inspect before buying anything. It could save you lots of money and headaches down the road. Our detail guy at work buddy wanted to buy a transit van… I told him to bring it in to inspect before buying. He didn’t listen “ the people are really nice and I bought it” safety was done on a Friday and brought to me on Monday. Inspected it -frame damage/ every panel was replaced nothing lines up or open/closes properly etc with a 65k calm. I told me good luck.

3" lift. $10K in TRD options. Richie's semi-hidden bumper, and soon his Elka suspension
There’s a 96 for sale in Aylmer that’s supposed to have a good frame.
    Search marketplace 96 toyota Tacoma.

^Unfortunately the frame isn't as solid as the seller advertised. Cab mounts about to fall off, among other things:

I wonder how different the frames are on the first gens between 2wd and 4x4? 2wd landscaper yotas are under 4k all day long in cali and are pretty much as pristine as a 1year old 3rd gen.

^The 5-lugger 2WD trucks have different front suspension attachment points. The 6-lugger PreRunner 2WD trucks have largely the same frame as 4WD except for maybe the transmission crossmember location, at least that's the case with 2nd gen.

Bought a Slime P/N 40045-2 120V AC tire pump for just $100 at Princess Auto. I see it normally sells for $146 elsewhere. Half-decent tire pump for use at home without running the engine. Pretty quiet as well. However, inflation time is slow, taking over 5 min 30 sec to inflate a 35" tire from 15 to 30 psi. By contrast, the Viair 89P does the same in 2 min 30 sec.

The pump comes with a wall-mount bracket, coiled extension hose, tread depth gauge, and the typical needle adapters. Build quality seems good.

After letting the parts acclimate near their new home for a while the budget 2nd battery setup is complete. The sensing relay is reasonably close to the trigger voltages it advertises (within 60mV of each trip point). Monitoring in the short term, the 3rd gen puts out 13.6-14.1V after being started for a while. I've never watched it too closely after the battery has been charged but I remember still being in the low 13's. Perfectly operational with margin for the sensing relay. When the relay is 'off' it looks to pull about 1-2mA, much less than any other oem draws. When on ~325mA, its a real mechanical relay thats potted into the unit.

The aliexpress charger also looks to be in the >=95% efficency range, not bad!! XT90 connectors allow disconnecting the charger from teh battery when not using it (plan on adding an additional switch for the smart relay too) and also makes it easy to pull the battery for running the fridge externally.
