2025 Tacoma TRD sport manual transmission bought new 6/1/25. Week 2 of ownership at 400 miles check gas cap message next day CEL (P0456). Took it to the dealership they cleared the code and 2 days later same thing happened. Took it back to dealership and they had it 5 days probably because of the 4th of July holiday they changed the gas cap and 3 days later same thing happened. I bring the truck back to the dealership for the third time this time they had it for 2 weeks and TAS for Toyota was advising them. They changed the canister and purge valve. I get the truck back and 3 days later same problem. I’m at a loss

We are seeing issues with the new models and expecting an update soon, we've seen techs swapping fuel necks, valves, canisters etc.

I expect an update to the ECU soon, just be patient, its part of a new model run. The warnings are annoying I get it.

Thanks, should I just ignore the CEL? Or contact the service dealership? This has been going on for almost 6 weeks now. I think the dealership and TAS are just as confused and frustrated as I am. Truck only has 1200 miles on it

I'd contact them and make sure that the TAS case is active, even ask for the TAS # to make sure they have it.

They can pull the code from your truck remotely so there's no need to book it in.

The question I'd ask is if they have actually done a full diagnostic. Does the system actually not hold vacuum?
And you should not just ignore it. If you are in an area the requires emission testing this will fail it. And you don't want it to be on your dime later.
