Thanks, took my time on this one. I also put in focal’s front and rear and it all sounds amazing together. On a side note, while I hade everything apart I cleaned the seatbelts and Wow what a difference in color and now they retract without help.

I went with the ICU570’s front and rear, they are a little bright but with some tuning this is my favorite build to date. I tried some Infiniti reference first but they sounded like tin cans. I didn’t want to spends thousands of dollars on this build like I have in the past, I repurposed the sub and amp and had left over sound dampening from years ago. The last 6 systems I built using mostly Infiniti kappa, alpine, Kenwood and oem audio plus. I’m sure there are better sounding options out there but this is the first system I’ve had that won’t distort when pushing past what volume I consider loud enough. Then again I’m older now so maybe I don’t listen as loud as I used to lol

Anyone tried the Alpine SS-SB10 shallow preloaded enclosure? A local shop has recommended that for my Tacoma double cab, and let me listen to a similar set up in another customer's Tacoma, and it sounded really good to me, plus fit nicely behind the drivers side rear seat (did require removing the plastic storage tray/trim however). He talked me out of the Trail Grid Pro offered Alpine powered sub, since I listen to a lot of different styles of music and he said that smaller one was more punchy and wouldn't hit the lower frequencies that the SB10 would. Install is set up for Saturday, and it will have a dedicated amp and they are also installing a smaller 4 channel amp to run the factory speakers (for the time being), so I'm hoping it works well!

Update: work was completed yesterday and I"m happy with the results! With the small kicker amp driving the factory speakers, it sounds very balanced and loud when cranked (and I don't have to use as much volume to get the same level of sound). The subwoofer is almost overpowering. I have the bass dial turned down to the halfway mark, and that seems to work well for my listening style. Shop used one of the blank switches for the bass dial, and it looks good.

Got 2 10” CT Sounds Hydro subs behind the rear seat. Sealed Enclosure done by mrmarv.

And 4 6.5” CT Sounds Meso Subs under the rear seat. I removed the storage compartment and sealed the sheet metal holes toward the front of the cab with epoxy putty and the holes toward the rear with expandable foam and laid sound deadener. The baffle work was done custom by a local installer.

Will be cleaning up behind the seat with carpeted boxes and and make things look more presentable. Over all I’m very happy with this setup!

I added 2 JL Audio W1v3 12inch subs,I’m deciding between cutting the back panels to install them partially above the box or just leave it the way it is

After several months of getting different brands of equipment I was finally able to come across an 8 channel amp JL VX 800/8
And the JL Audio C7 6.5 and C7 Tweeters so this new equipment will join the existing JL Audio VX 1000/5 and the Mille legend set currently installed on the rear doors with the passive crossovers.
Since everything will be running active I will keep the Mille Legend tweeters at front mounted on the sail panels of the door and will remove the 9 inch morel mid bass to replace with the C7 6.5s the difference this time is that these C7s will be appropriately powered by bridging 4 channels of the VX amp.everyone I’ve met have talked wonders about the C7s. Why keeping the legend tweeters at front?IMO these are just a bit more smoother than the C7s and honestly I just like the way they look exposing the silky domes between the aluminum grills
And if some noticed yes this will be my second set of C7s the first round I didn’t had the right amplifier to power them properly so I’m looking forward till the project is completed this time. I am maintaining a current set of C7 tweeters in the back doors these are there to stay since I cut the wholes on the rear doors panels they seat flush and I like the smooth grills.
Since I added the 2 JL Audio Wv1 12 inch Subs my bass fills the cabin way fuller than 1 tw3 that I tested for a while so this will be the way to complete my system. A lot of support and guidance from Terry Q at Paradyme in Sacramento Ca throughout the process and special thanks to him all this is been possible as he is planning his retirement but still helping people tuning their vehicles he just has a developed ear after almost 45 years in the industry.

what's with the brax graphic gl6?

personally, i've demo'd a few of the jl midbasses, and i've never cared for them. i liked the hertz mid better, but still felt that there's better options out there.

I love the hertz legends, I had them running passive and really liked the way they sounded
So that will be the benchmark as you can see with the morel mid bass it might be hard to re adapt since it is pretty strong however I’ve heard the c7s in my friends truck properly tuned and powered with the VXI amp bridged and they really popped and I did like them quite a bit I am also planning to get the 3.5 inch C7s to replace the Mille legends currently in the dashboard. Worst case scenario I’ll bring back all the legends at some point if end up not liking the C7s lol!
As for the Brax GL 6 they are waiting for another project on another vehicle

i've been really happy with my peerless hds 7" drivers. the older dayton esoteric 7" also is very similarly voiced, but doesn't seem to have the same bass extension.

next on my to-try list is the css ldw7 7" midbass

For Goodness sake!! I wish y’all could listen to the way the VXI 800/8 amp brought up all the speakers alive!!! You can see in the picture the Audison 6.600! 6 channel amp if I was happy the way it sound before I can say I am way more satisfied with the sound coming out of this JL Audio 8 channel beast; there was no need to bridge the channels just 75 watts RMS per channel and the explosion in sound awoke!
I have not tried the C7 speakers just yet probably next week lol as for now I just want to listen to the difference !!
Had to connect the VXI 8 channel amp via RCA through output coming out of the VX10005 which is my main amp so had to set up both amps seperately. The people at JL audio customer service kindly told me my previous connection was wrong so after hours of frustration and not saving my work the right way I managed to get sound of the new amp and maintain the settings!
At this point in time my amplifiers are not!
They’re not even calibrated nor measured just yet so I can not wait to have the proper tuning completed by a good gentleman Terry and his magic ears he is a very well respected old school tuner I mean even people after paying thousands of dollars they still come to have Terry check their system so just can not wait at this point so will have to be patient for the next few days since O also had to order the JL audio VXI hub to facilitate tuning both amps without desconecting the amps so a bit more work and will be ready for final tunning! I apologize if I sound jerky whatever you want to name me but when sound starts making sense and you can tell the difference you just can not stop playing all your favorite tunes in extasy!! talk to you all soon
