Wassup fellas, I'm new here and really need some help. After scrolling through previous posts, I couldn't find information on replacing my JBL system. I have a 2021 Tacoma Off-Road with the JBL upgrade, and I want to replace the entire system (door speakers, amp, sub, and head unit). I wanna keep features like the 360 view cam and steering wheel controls, I understand I need a Maestro-compatible head unit. The Kenwood DMX709S was quoted at $1,060, including the necessary Maestro harnesses. My question is whether changing the head unit allows me to remove the factory JBL amp and connect the doors, sub, and amps directly to the new head unit?

I apologize for my lack of terms, but I don’t quite understand what you are suggesting. Again I apologize I’m new to the fourms

Yeah don’t think I’ll go that route it’s $2800 without speaker upgrades and $5,200 with speaker upgrades. Really just wanna know if I can upgrade my head unit, delete jbl system (amp, head unit, speakers) and add my own 4 channel amp and sub amp with new speakers and subs eventually.

If you're upgrading your head unit then using aftermarket audio (amps/speakers/sub) shouldn't be a problem, most head units are very limited on power output so you'll want to run a separate amp for the speakers and definitely one for the subwoofer.

Yes you should be able to remove the amplifier as you'll be "bypassing" it with the new aftermarket head unit and amplifiers so it will be useless.

The JBL system has individual wires ran to every single speaker installed.

As long as you plan to replace the system in its entirety, as well as run new wire, there won't be any problems.

The primary proprietary thing everyone needs to work around is the fact that the amp and head unit speak a specific language to each other. As long as you remove both, you eliminate the "language" in the system.

yes I plan on removing the jbl system as a whole. Now with that being said with the correct maestro harnesses will I be able to keep my 360 cam, steering wheel controls etc?

Wait…if you remove the JBL head unit, amp, and speakers you have to run new speaker wire? There isn’t a pigtail that adapts to any new speaker and to the new head unit?

can you keep the factory JBl head and amp and add new speakers?

I have the JBL and it frankly sounds awful.
