Thanks @tonered for putting all this together! I didn't even know what the accumulator was let alone that out trucks had them, but I sure am glad you told me how to get it the hell out! I went with @Firn 's ADD and it sells out quick. Those 9 @Shellshock mentions above were long gone when I looked so I messaged him on Ebay and got the details on his latest batch that went on sale a little over a week ago now. Mine just showed up thanks to some holiday shipping delays and hes already down to the last one on Ebay. Getting all the crusty grimy brackets off had me at my wits end with the tight space under the truck but after a few beers and a lot of swearing I got everything out. It was as easy as could be to drop the ADD in the back of the accumulator, no grinding or funny fitment issues and perfect tolerances and finish on the brass. Reassembly was a lot better to put it all back together after cleaning everything up and I even managed to bleed it by myself. Learned a trick where you run a hose from the bleeder into a bottle, keep the end submerged in fluid so it can never suck air in and open the bleeder wide.

Firnification on Ebay is the only place to get this part and it was absolutely worth the wait for a quality product over one of the crummy and more expensive knockoffs. Absolutely awesome mod and coupled with the FJ pedal swap and new slave feels like a brand new clutch even though the rest of the actual clutch has 200k on it.

Shoutout to @BLtheP for his killer write up on the FJ pedal swap. It was a lot easier to do than getting at the crusty bolts that hold the accumulator on and these two mods go together like biscuits and sausage gravy. I'm looking forward to putting the miles on and finding out how much my stock clutch has left in it. haha.

I did this last night. Drained the lines, unhooked the accumulator, opened it up, and... wtf. No gaping hole to put the disk in!?!?20250802_185425.jpg 20250802_185419.jpg 20250802_185432.jpg 20250802_185438.jpg

Are the '12+ models different? I hadn't read this anywhere. Surely I'm not the first '12+ owner to attempt this mod.

You have to get the round metal plate out of there.

I went back to the beginning and didn't read anything about removing it. The accumulator is back on the truck for now, but I'll dive in again eventually. How does the disc come out? Also, do I put it back in after installing the brass disc?
    Thank you.
I'm sure, as with all new modification procedures, it will be easier and less frustrating the second time.

Small pick, or suction cup, or bang it on the tabletop or something to get it to fall out. Sometimes It’s a pain. It’s in there pressed up against a rubber sealing ring. Once the steel disc comes out, you install the firm disc in its place (it now seals against the o-ring instead)

I was told to put mine in the freezer and that worked like a charm. Though my swap was off the truck cause I have a hard line delete.

I was trying to remember pulling mine apart, but I did the hard line swap too. Gave mine to you for science purposes.

I think yours has a disc in it, inside a bag inside a bin, on a shelf...
