Anyone have experience with Porsche Macan’s? Going to be trading in the wife’s Raptor on something a little more baby friendly.

 

We have a 2007 Toyota RAV4 v6. It's the best. Probably my favourite car ever. Has to be the v6 though. Ideal mom mobile, but I drive it whenever I get the opportunity.

 

I know that doesn't answer your question, Im just a big fan of the v6 RAV4. It has more horsepower than a 2nd gen 4.0 tacoma, but is small and light. Thing rips. And the AWD is great.

 

I hear caged Tacomas are very safe for children. Car seat bolts right in.

But what’s wrong with the raptor? New sequoia trd pro are pretty good looking

 

It’s just too tall to be putting car seats in and out of, even after I downsized from 37s to 35’s and lowered it an inch.

it’s also a “heavy” feeling truck, primarily due to its age, electric rack and pinion is a little tired.

I suggested the sequoia but it’s too much of a “dude truck” even though it would look baller next to the tundra.

 

Any time I think European vehicles dollars symbols just start screaming. Purchase, Insurance, Maintenance, Repairs, questionable reliability and terrible resale values. But it is your money not mine.

 

Owning a raptor and this piece of shit Tacoma has prepared me to spend a small fortune on basic maintenance for the family vehicles

seriously though, no matter what we get an extended warranty is in the picture

 

I’ve driven a lot of different cars, used to do valet for a few hotels in the area.
They’re kinda cool, but if you’re gonna go for that I’d rather have the Cayenne. Macans seem like they’d be a bit small for a family car, unless you plan on stopping at one kid.
Also, you don’t strike me as the type to keep that for a long time either, so it could be great fun for a few years until you’re on #2 or simply have something else.
Definitely get ready to pay the premium European maintenance tax, I wouldn’t keep one past the extended warranty length anyhow though.

 

On maintenance, ya! But my E46 M3 insurance through Haggerty is very reasonable! You tell them how much it should be insured for. In my case for $20k full coverage and it's something like $650 for a full year

4wd 1st gen guys... what are my spindle options? unfortunately, my passenger side spindle is trash. I installed a brand new bearing and its just flopping around in there.

I wanted to go with the solo spindles, but I didn't realize you had to buy RCV's to make them work and i cant drop that kind of cash right now.

 

Junkyard and throw on a TC gusset if you want… atleast that is my method. I’m too lazy to press in a new bearing so I keep a collection of backups
