    Howdy,
I'm planning to change the transfer case fluid on my 2022 Toyota TRD Off-Road, but I'm unsure which product to use.
Toyota recommends W75 gear oil, but it's expensive and difficult to find. I've seen mixed opinions online:
Some people suggest using AMSOIL SEVERE GEAR 75W-90 (GL-5).
Others say only GL-4 should be used and that GL-5 can be harmful.
I watched a video from The Car Care Nut, and he said it's okay to use 75W-90 GL-5 in the transfer case.
    I found the following options:
    Valvoline 75W-90 (GL-5) — 5 quarts on Amazon for $61
AMSOIL 75W-90 Manual Transmission & Transaxle Gear Lube — not sure if this is compatible
Can you please confirm which one is safe and best to use for my transfer case?

I will buy OEM in a few days for my 2022. Pricey, but it *IS* for the transfer case and is performed less often than oil changes.

Basically no one knows. Seems like a lot of people run 75W-90 in everything. Redline makes 75W-85 for the diffs. That’s what I used. They also make 75W for the tcase but I could not confirm the GL rating the tcase needs so and the redline stuff is GL-5.

so I went redline 75w-85 for diffs. OEM fluids for tcase

I understand expensive but what is the cost to replace the transfer case? Buy OEM oil, Toyota genuine transfer case oil. You only save $75 but a replacement is more expensive than replacing tCase … plus you would need to buy the oil again,
