Proglide tail gate assist

Anyone confirm if 2nd gen and 3rd gen tail gates interchange? I want to install a Proglide assist but it only lists it for 2nd gen and tech support was useless as you could tell he was reading of the website. TIA

 

2nd and 3rd gen tailgates are not cross compatible, so I would highly doubt any accessories are either.

 

As mentioned in that FB post, did your soft close mechanism quit working? There is a plactic bracket in the passenger side hinge that slows the opening of the tailgate. It's semi common for them to fail and easily replaced.

 

Honestly I had no idea there was one, only had the truck for a month. It's a base SR so maybe it doesn't have one?? Both hinges look the same and has 0 assist.
