I happened upon this unit in October 2019. Right down the road Steve Balmer was driving his Porsche 918 but I didn't snap a pic of that.

One year only (1986) Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2. It also had the huge back window from the Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe, if you're familiar with that car. They (along with the Aerocoupe) were made in limited numbers to meet (IIRC) Nascar homologation rules, as the rear end treatment made for better aerodynamics on the superspeedways.

While there were certainly similarities between the rear windows of the Monte Carlo and the Grand Prix, the windows were actually different. The window of the a Pontiac was actually longer than the Monte Carlo. You can see the Chevy window sloped to a short read deck lid, while the Pontiac’s slope continued all the way to the rear spoiler. There was a real uproar, especially from Chevy teams, when the Pontiac showed up because it was thought they’d have an advantage. But, as it turned out, the aerodynamics of the Pontiac made it a real hand full. Pontiac won only 2 races that year, while the Monte Carlo won 17

Was that Monte Carlo considered rare? I’ve seen that particular back window but not as much as the ones the don’t slope back like that. More straight down

My big sister had an all black small rear window 36hp 59' VW bug for years. She loved that thing.

Funny thing about my sister's 59' bug. After years of ownership keeping it in perfect shape, she let her ex have it when they divorced. They have stayed good friends since. Well, three days after she gave it to him it was hit on the street by a speeding vehicle and the bug was totaled. To this day she still likes to think that silly car committed suicide after she abandoned it.....
