Multi-point turns on a steep hill can be a lot sketchier than engine braking on just the rear wheels. As far as vehicle stability goes rear wheel braking generally seems rather stable, much better than just the fronts and your rear trying to get ahead of the front. You may get some oversteer but in a tight windy turning situation that isn't always a bad thing.

Someone really needs to start selling the 2Lo harness again.....

No one is stopping you :D

All kidding aside, if they were readily available I would probably snag one even for my other truck which is an automatic. Just because

2LM is super useful off-road. It is necessary. It should be a factory option. (even said by someone (me) who is not towing much...).

My detailed thoughts on off-road use are on other posts in this thread...

Said that - I am sure that if it came as a factory function, it would likely cause lots of used confusion - much like lockers, etc. - Even the basic 2Hi / 2Lo functionality throws some users off (or do only I get the links to the off-road fail videos??)

Manually locking hubs returning would put this issue to bed right quick...

The f-350s at work all have manual locking hubs and most of the plow drivers who use the pickups are not regulars so they're kind of dumb in that department. You can tell him a hundred times how to do four-wheel drive and they'll still screw it up every shift.

Of course all the full timers are driving the dump trucks which are only rear wheel drive but they also weigh 7 and 1/2 tons empty so.. lol

    You are correct Sir!

But the P&P 2lm harness is much easier to fit than adding locking hubs to the 3rd gen! :D

(I do get your point! - especially when in mud - or winter as you mentioned.)
