I’m sure some of us are split on this, going against the grain.

    lol, "failing upwards" in action!

the more people involved, the worse it gets.

    ready for someone else's drama?

boss has been crying for an 'administrative assistant' for the past 6 months. the shop rumor mill says something hush-hush happened, and the girl that had been doing it spontaneously relocated herself to california. she's been performing the job remotely ever since. but clearly that doesn't work very well for all the local needs of a company with 25 employees in indiana.

he finally got someone hired, and they started this past monday. the job pays $22/hr. she rolls up in 2025 audi. no less than a $150k vehicle.

monday morning consisted of setup. email account, adding to the phone directory, and typical HR paperwork. by monday afternoon, as is his manglementmanagement style, he proceeded to dump that 6 months of backlogged admin stuff onto her. subject for immediate completion.

tuesday, she left for lunch, phoned in that she had an "emergency", and didn't come back.

wednesday, she's decided to no longer work here.

so now they'll be looking for another victim candidate.

us shop rats are a little disappointed. the pool we had going had dates for her lasting 2 months, 3 months, and 4 months out. no one figured she'd only make it 1.5 days!

Right? That fireplace is legit! I told my wife it’s Perfect for “kindling” our romance. Maybe it will renew that spark in her eye. You know…ignite her passion. But I just read the fine print. They don’t take cards…just legal tinder. :anonymous::anonymous::anonymous:

That sounds a little like the time I sat down for an interview and before I could say a word the guy had taken 3 personal calls in front of me. For like 20+ minutes. No thanks take me off the list. I'm interviewing you just as much as you're interviewing me.

Get on up and get with it. We're in early setting up some Blue Origin stuff. They are on the schedule for launching this month.

Shaping up to be another humid day here. We've been in a drought for years so these hot humid days are really taking us by surprise haha.

We’re getting it bad this year. Watery eyes, sneezing, coughing. The North Country looks like downtown LA during the 70’s..

    Hammer drill pros and cons.

I may be buying one soon, corded probably since I won't be using it much. Any of them better than others? You get what you pay for I assume?

Like you, I seldom use a hammer drill.

I opted to just rent one from HD.

I have a Bosch. I love it. It is about 20 years old and has a lot of miles on it. I like the ergonomics of it. That being said, I bought one for a friend about 18 years ago and got a great deal on a Milwaukee. He loves his as well and has used it far more than I’ve used mine.

Just got done making 12 of these out of aluminum with a +.0000" -.0005" bore on both sides.

They're supposed to be made out of steel :smack:
